Painful heel cracks and dry skin fissures.
Cracked Heels & Fissures
Cracked heels are more than a cosmetic problem, they can become painful and even infected.
Heel fissures form when thickened, dry skin around the heel splits under pressure. They’re common in summer, in people who go barefoot or wear open-back shoes, and in those with diabetes or thyroid conditions. Left untreated, deep fissures can bleed, become infected and significantly limit walking comfort.
