Plantar Warts
Effective treatment for stubborn verrucae, tailored to the wart, the foot and the person.
Plantar Warts
Plantar warts are caused by HPV and can be painful, persistent and contagious, but with the right approach, most cases clear with the right approach.
Plantar warts (verrucae) are HPV-driven skin lesions that grow on the soles of the feet. Because they are constantly under pressure, they grow inward rather than outward, often surrounded by hard, thickened skin. They can be sore to walk on, easy to mistake for a corn, and frustratingly difficult to clear with over-the-counter treatments.
At Southern Podiatry Clinic Nowra we use two clinic-grade treatments, strong salicylic acid preparations and silver nitrate, selected based on the size, depth and location of the wart and the patient’s age and pain tolerance. Both options are well-tolerated, effective, and don’t require time off your feet.
